PLAYLIST
Texas has always been known for doing things in a “big” way, especially when it comes to music And, once again, the lone star state has not disappointed.
Up and coming country singer, songwriter, Brenton Layne. Born in Longview, Brenton caught the music bug early on, and, by age 15, was a regular recording studio fixture. Influenced by such Texas “Icons” as George Strait and ZZ Top, Layne is paving his own way incorporating elements from a variety of styles, creating a fresh and original take on the country genre.
“I write and sing what I’ve lived and what I know. That’s what you get with me,” says Layne. His life experiences, good and bad, have made him the person and artist he is today.
This integrity, instilled by a military father and late beloved mother, has built a continually, expanding base of admirers through a genuine connection between performer and fan. With an undeniable work ethic and, what seems to be, an endless well of material, Brenton Layne is a musical force on the rise.

Steven Nix is not a new name around Nashville. He moved to Nashville his senior year of high school and since then, he has been writing songs all around Nashville with the likes of Canaan Smith, Dylan Schneider and Walker Hayes, as well as some of the hottest writers in town.
Steven even got a song he had solo written cut by Disney with vocals from Scotty McCreery, Kelsea Ballerini, Lauren Alaina, LoCash, Lindsay Ell, Mickey Guyton and more great artists. But after cutting his teeth in the writing room the last few years, Steven has decided it was time to give us music he performs as well so we can get an idea of who he is as an artist. Steven released “More Than I’ll Ever Need” as his debut single and we can’t get it out of our head since the first listen.
The track talks about some of the things that make Country Folk, Country. Things like having enough to get by and little things that can go a long way to making oneself happy. Things like a good woman, some hunting trophies, a reliable truck, ice cold beer and a hand me down shotgun from his old man. It’s an upbeat track that explains exactly what he has to be thankful for. Steven, who wrote the track with Bill Roemer, told us “I’m proud of this song and the fact that it’s my first release because it introduces me to the world as an artist for who I am.”
That my friends is a Country man signing about Country things. You don’t really need much more than that. So grab your Zebco and that special person in your life and remember how much there is to be thankful for.
